BlueM FAQs

Is BlueM for daily use?
Yes, BlueM is adequate for daily use.

Generally how long will a tube of BlueM toothpaste (75ml) and BlueM mouthwash (500ml) last?
With both products, by normal use, it will last approximately two months.

Approximately how much mouthwash do I need to use each time?
The bottle is designed to put directly in your mouth. Approximately 20ml of mouthwash will allow you to flush your mouth out effectively. As the mouthwash foams it then allows the oxygen within the formula to do its job effectively.

Can I swallow the mouthwash?
We recommend BlueM not to be swallowed - using it to wash the mouth and then spitting it out. However, the product doesn’t contain toxic materials, so it can be swallowed.

How many times a day I have to brush my teeth for an optimal result?
For an optimal result it is recommended to brush two to three times a day with BlueM. Other BlueM products such as BlueM mouthwash can be used regularly or as often as needed. We advise to use oral gel with periodontal issues.

Does BlueM contain fluoride?
No, BlueM doesn’t contain fluoride. The high concentration of fluoride that is present in normal toothpaste will corrode the titanium layer of the implant. BlueM toothpaste and BlueM mouthwash don’t contain fluoride, therefore the risk of loosening of the implant is lower.

What makes the BlueM products different then other products?
BlueM has a unique combination of ingredients to create the most effective formula for killing bad bacteria. The ingredients include a combination of honey and salt whereby the exact dosage of oxygen is released for a therapeutic effect. The main ingredients include:

  • Lacterofine
  • Xylitol
  • Honey
  • Oxygen

What is the effect of honey in BlueM?
The honey in BlueM toothpaste and BlueM mouthwash gradually releases oxygen when it comes into contact with the saliva in the mouth. This process is called Glucose Oxidase (GOX). Honey helps in the elimination of the six most common oral bacteria types which cause Periodontitis and Peri-implantitis. Besides the elimination of vicious bacteria, honey helps to reduce plaque formation and has healing properties for gum treatment.

Does honey contain sugars? If so, isn’t that bad for the teeth?
Yes, the honey in BlueM toothpaste and BlueM mouthwash contains sugars but has no negative effect on the teeth. Sugar is naturally found in our diet and is often added to it. Bacteria in your mouth convert sugar and other digestible carbohydrates into acids. These acids dissolve the enamel of your teeth. The oxygen from BlueM toothpaste and BlueM mouthwash kills the bacteria before they can do their work. BlueM products also contain Xylitol, which is another ingredient that fights against tooth decay.

What is Xylitol?
Xylitol is a natural sweetener that occurs in fibers of many fruits and vegetables and has a positive effect on teeth. In the USA the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recommends it as product against tooth decay. It has a fresh taste and is therefore widely used in chewing gum. As bad bacteria is responsible for tooth decay (Streptococcus Mutans), it cannot digest Xylitol and therefore dies. Furthermore, Xylitol complicates the bacterium like plaque that attaches to tooth enamel.

Is there a risk for the use of Xylitol during pregnancy?
No, there is no risk with the use of Xylitol during pregnancy. Infants benefit from a mother that uses Xylitol, due to the fact that there is less contamination with bacteria (which is a cause of tooth decay).

What is Lacterofine?
Lacterofine is an anti-inflammatory protein which belongs to the humeral component of the defence mechanism of the body. Humeral components are enzymes that are present in the body, which inhibit pathogen, or that activate other cells or enzymes that clean up pathogen. It also works as a powerful antioxidant. Lacterofine activates DNA to a strong immune response against bacteria, viruses and fungi.

What is the lifespan of a BlueM product?
Approximately 2 years.
